My introduction to the intricacies of 5 Element Theory and the use of acupressure points in reflexology began today with a workshop in Edinburgh with Helen Harris at The Gillies Centre. It got off to a bad start as I fell flat on my face as I was leaving the ladies toilets – two left feet! – but once I had recovered myself everything improved from then on.
Workshops can be a bit hit and miss – sometimes you come away thinking that you haven’t really learnt anything but not today. This workshop was jam packed with information, practical demos, printed reference material related to TCM, 5 Element Theory and how to put this to practical use in a treatment. We also got an insight into the larger topic of vibrational energy using tuning forks, some information on the work of Fabien Maman, Sound Therapy and many other related topics.
So in short I’ve come home keen to find out more and looking forward to including some of the techniques in my treatments. Straight onto Amazon to order some books to find out more!
