Membership in the International Council of Reflexologists is open to all reflexologists, associations, educational institutions and teachers throughout the world regardless of methodology and techniques.
ICR has members in thirty-six countries on six continents.
One of the first speakers at the conference will be Father Josef.
Father Josef is a Catholic priest who has worked tirelessly throughout Asia to revive reflexology and is credited with training thousands of people in his techniques. Based in Taiwan he sees the benefits which reflexology can bring to the people he serves, seeing it as a technique to be learnt and practiced by everyone, particularly those living in developing countries.
The following Youtube video – aired originally in 2009 – is an interview in which Father Josef explains about his own particular method of reflexology which he developed over many years. His method makes use of the theory of yin and yang and 5 element theory.
If you don’t have time to watch the whole piece then here are a few pointers for highlights:
- first 2 minutes for Father Josef’s background
- 8:06 onwards for details of how Father Josef applies yin and yang theory and 5 elements in his New Foot Health Method
- 11:30 onwards for Father Josef’s hopes for reflexology.
