After my interesting workshop with Helen Harris I’ve been thinking about how I could incorporate acupoints more into reflexology sessions.
Acupuncturists use needles to access the points, shiatsu practitioners use pressure from elbows, knees – the inference being that quite a lot of pressure is often used.
Do I really want to go down that route? The answers is – Not really. One of the main benefits for some clients can be the level of relaxation during treatment – which doesn’t really sit well with applying deep pressure to tender points for a minute or so at a time. I’d almost need to provide two different types of treatment.
Is there a better way for me? There may be. While at the workshop with Helen in Edinburgh on Chi Reflexology we touched upon using Tuning Forks while working with the acupoints. Introducing vibration into and around the acupoint rather than using pressure.
So I’ve booked a place on a three day workshop with Fabien Maman specifically to look at using Tuning Forks on the Acupoints with the Tama Do Academy in Market Harborough – Shu Points (Tuning forks on the Acupuncture Command Points).
Looking forward to learning more.
Keep you posted.
